Working Principle

1.Vertical Disc Movement

• Rotating the handle/actuator lowers or raises the valve stem.
• The disc (plug) attached to the stem moves perpendicular to the flow direction.

         Open state: Disc lifts → fluid flows around it.

         Closed state: Disc presses down → seals tightly against the seat ring.

2.Sealing Action

• Disc and seat create metal-to-metal (or soft-seated) contact.
• Force applied by the stem compresses the disc → blocks flow completely.

3.Flow Path Design

• Fluid enters → hits an internal baffle → changes direction twice (typically S-shaped path).
• Causes turbulence and pressure drop → enables flow control but reduces efficiency.
